Polydoc offers great possibilities to store and search unstructured information as distinguished from relational databases where all information must have been structured before it can be stored. Some features are, for instance, unlimited field length and unlimited number of keywords.

The registration part is specifically designed for quick, efficient and simple registration. Lists with abbreviations, keywords and stopwords are supported. External keywords, as well as existing keywords in the database, can easily be copied into new records.

Polydoc is characterised by very fast searching. The time needed to process a search is almost independent of database size.

Several types of report indexes can be produced:

• KWAC, KWIC and KWOC indexes
• Rotation indexes
• Word frequency lists

Special printing formats can also be definied using the powerful report generator.

The security system can be defined on different levels, for example to restrict user access to certain functions, databases and/or fields.

Other features include parallel searching, thesaurus, extended validation of records, loan administration and publication of databases on Internet/Intranet.

Polydoc is delivered with English, Swedish, Danish and Norwegian texts.
